NELL LEE STEELMAN, age 86, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, October 23, 2010. She was a native of Flintville, TN. Nell lived 45 years in Franklin County, TN and the last 13 years in Murfreesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Zack E. and Lonie Hartwell Shirey Lee, and her husband, Reeves Melson R.M. Steelman. Funeral service will be 1:00pm Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ray Gardner from Winchester will officiate. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens, Winchester, TN. She is survived by her son, Charles Allan Steelman, Sr and his wife, Sharon N. of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Teresa Anne Moore of Murfreesboro, Charles A. Steelman, Jr. and his wife Tatiana of West Palm Beach, FL, Kimberly N. Smith and her husband Andy of Franklin, TN, Christopher W. Boyd and his wife Shannon of North Richland Hills, TX, Kenneth G. Boyd and his wife Nikki of Bedford, TX, Tammy Newsome and her husband, Anthony of Murfreesboro, and also 15 great grandchildren. Mrs. Steelman was a long time employee of E.B. Carpet Mill as Executive Secretary/Personnel. She moved to Murfreesboro in 1997 and quickly became active in the community. She was a member of River Rock Baptist Church and Blackman Community Homemakers Club. She volunteered at the St. Clair Senior Center and was a past board member of River Chase Townhome Association.
