Nancy Ann Zumbro Lanier, 89, passed away April 7, 2015. A lifelong resident of Murfreesboro, Mrs. Lanier was the daughter of Boyd Earthman and Lizzie May Gray Zumbro. She graduated from Central High School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. Mrs. Lanier was raised attending First Baptist Church where she volunteered with Cradle Roll and in the nursery, and attended the women's Sunday School Class. In later years, she attended Calvary Baptist Church from the time it was established in 2000. She was active in both Church and Sunday School. Mrs. Lanier was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 47 years, H. Miller Lanier, whose business, Mid-State Flight School, she actively supported. She loved welcoming her husband's MTSU Aerospace students into their home, many of whom remained lifelong friends. She was an avid Blue Raider enthusiast. Mrs. Lanier retired in June, 2008 from Middle Tennessee State University where she served 26 years as Secretary to the Faculty Senate. The office of the secretary is named in her honor. Mrs. Lanier was a devoted and beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Melinda Ann and Dallas Green Caudle, Jr. and Elizabeth Mae and Joseph Patty of Murfreesboro; Grandchildren, Miller Lanier Caudle, Shannon Elizabeth Jobe and husband Dean, Dallas Green Caudle, III and wife Amy, Laura Blair Brown and husband Ben; great grandchildren, Joseph Austin Jones, Braeden Taylor Jobe, Ethan Gray Caudle, Alex Green Caudle, David Lanier Caudle, and Micah Lanier Brown. Visitation with the family will be Friday, April 10, 2015 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, prior to a graveside service at 1:30pm at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are David C. Davis, John Earl Ellington, Robert Huddleston, Jr., Brian Summar, and Tim Wagner.
