Nancy Jones McNabb, age 93 of Murfreesboro died Sunday at her home. Mrs. McNabb was a native of the Murray Community, and was the daughter of the late Sam and Edna McFarlin Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband Stanley McNabb who died in 1991, two brothers, Truman and Ben Jones and a sister, Marjorie Jones Sims. Funeral service will be at 11:00AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Nicky Nichols, Bud Mitchell, Trey McNabb and Steve Cates will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mrs. McNabb is survived by a son; Stan McNabb and wife Jamie of Tullahoma; three sisters, Jane Goodwin of Murfreesboro, Sara Jackson of Murfreesboro, Mary Schultz of Winston Salem, N.C.; three grandchildren, Trent McNabb of Tullahoma, Trey McNabb and wife Dolly of Tullahoma, and Ashleigh Jessup and husband Dan of Palm Springs, CA.; three great-grandchildren, Kinsleigh and Whitleigh Jessup and Palmer McNabb. Mrs. McNabb was a direct descendant of Captain William Lytle. Mrs. McNabb was a member of Science Hill Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Kittrell High School and received her Masters Degree from MTSU, while working on her Master Degree she enrolled in aeronautics program at MTSU.Mrs. McNabb was a retired educator and guidance counselor at Oakland High School. She began her teaching career at Murray School, continued at Kittrell School, Central High School and retired from Oakland High School in 1991. Mrs. McNabb was a member of ADK Educators Society, Oakland's Historical Society, Hardy Murfree Chapter of the DAR, and Women's Club. Mrs. McNabb had a love for Tennessee Walking Horses, enjoyed reading, traveling, and was an avid MTSU Women's Basketball and Braves Fan.
