Obituary

NANCY JANE FANN, age 65, of Murfreesboro died Thursday July 9, 2009, at Adams Place after an 11 year battle with cancer. She was a native of Shelbyville, Tennessee, and was the daughter of the late Joe D. and Estelle Threet Fann. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Chaplain Marshall Gupton will officiate. Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Christiana. She is survived by a brother, Larry G. Fann of Rogersville, Alabama; niece, Courtney Fann Humphrey of Denver, Colorado; nephew, Brian Kevin Fann of Portland, Oregon; and a plethora of family and friends. Nancy Jane was a 1961 graduate of Central High School in Shelbyville and received her B.S. and Masters degree from MTSU. She taught at Jacksonville Florida High School and the Department of Defense High Schools in Seville and Zaragoza, Spain. She returned to Tennessee in 1975 and taught at Motlow State Community College. From 1978 to 2005 she taught in the Business Education Department at MTSU. Pallbearers will be Tommy Yeargan, Kennon Threet, Jerry Little, Joe Sawyer, Pat Adams, and Josh Threet. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Nancy. Visitation will be 4:00pm until 8:00pm Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, 893-5151, www.woodfinchapel.com.
