Myra James Nhanthavong, age 54 of Smithville, Tennessee died Monday, February 26, 2024, at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville. She was a native of Washington, North Carolina and was the daughter of the late Dennis James and Stephanie Yvonne Austin James Ward. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Peggy Ruth Austin.

Survivors include her husband, Venephet Nhanthavong; a son, Gerardo Junior Garcia; a sister, Lisa Tomlin; sisters in law, Helen Delacruz and husband Dennis, Sounthala Chittanavong and husband Scott, Phayboune Sysourath and husband Paul, and Kim Priphasouk; brothers in law, Bill Sourinho, John Sourinho, and Henry Nhanthavong; an uncle, Chantho Sourinho; father-in-law, Khamsene Nhanthavong and a host of other loving family and friends.

Myra was a loving mother, wife, and friend.
