Monte Brown, age 67, of Smyrna, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 14, 2018. A native of Hendersonville, TN, he was the son of the late Willie Rayburn and Mary Lee Miller Brown. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Connie Artwood.

He is survived by his loving wife Sandra Hinkle Brown; children, Crystal and Mende; brother, Mark Brown of Ashland City, TN; and sister, Susie Gregory of Portland, TN.

Monte was of the Baptist faith. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After his military service, Monte went into law enforcement. He began first by working at the Opryland Hotel and Theme Park for three years. In 1983 he went to work for the Town of Smyrna as a Police Officer and retired with 30 years of service in 2013. Monte had also served as an SOP with the Smyrna Fire Department.

Police officers of the Smyrna Police Department will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral services will be Monday at 7:00 p.m. Susan Keith, Kevin Arnold and Todd Spearman will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 p.m. until service time.
