Miriam Christine Arnette Woodson, age 91, of Rockvale, died Monday, April 30, 2012. She was affectionally known to her family and friends as Mama Miriam. Mrs. Woodson was a lifelong member of Rockvale Church of Christ of which she was one of the founding members. She was a 1940 graduate of Central High School. She was a native and lifelong resident of Rockvale, TN . She was born on January 5, 1921 to the late James L. and Elizabeth Dismukes Arnette. Mrs. Woodson was also preceded in death by her husband, James D. J.D. Woodson, five sisters, Jessie Belle Mann, Pauline Arnette, Margaret Rogers, Ruth Avaritt and Aileen Lyons, and one brother, Ellis Arnette. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Brenda Woodson of Murfreesboro, daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and James Donald Clark of Rockvale, brother, Ben Arnette of Murfreesboro, four grandchildren, Kevin (Mary) Woodson of Murfreesboro, Eric (Rusha) Woodson of Chattanooga, Penny (Shane) Ray of Murfreesboro, Misty (Jimmy) Grant of Rockvale, seven great grandchildren, Brooke, Brad, Emily and Josh Woodson, Lily Ray, Gavin, and Maddie Grant. Special thanks to the staff at Communtiy Care of Rutherford County for their loving care and support for Mrs. Woodson and her family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockvale Church of Christ Building Fund, 8750 Hwy 99, Rockvale, TN 37153. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00pm Wednesday at Rockvale Church of Christ. Funeral service will be 10:00am Thursday at Rockvale Church of Christ. Shane Merritt will officiate.
