Mildred Elaine Seyl, age 71, of Murfreesboro, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2014. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Earin Smotherman and Clara Belle Douglas Smotherman. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dean Seyl. Funeral services will be Saturday at 4:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Roy Robinson and Brother Franklin Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Whitworth Cemetery. Visitation will begin Saturday at 2:00PM until service time. Mrs. Seyl is survived by her children, Jeffrey Seyl and his wife Sonya, Cindy Brantley and her husband Lee, Edwin Seyl and his wife Faye, and Scotty Seyl and his wife Sherrie; grandchildren, Zachrey, Kyla, Tosha, Tabitha, Justin, April, Amber, and Elaine; great grandchildren, David, Lulu, Emma and Aliyah; six brothers and six sisters; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Seyl was a member of New Beginnings Church at Rockvale. She was a 1962 graduate of Christiana High School. Mrs. Seyl had previously worked at Betterbilt in Smyrna and at Adams Place in Murfreesboro. She enjoyed sewing, painting and quilt work. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Brothers and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Memorials can be made to New Beginnings Church at Rockvale.
