Mildred Posey Pickard, 77 years old, passed away Monday June 16th in Murfreesboro. Born August 3, 1936 she was a homemaker for 58 years to her loving family. Mrs. Pickard was instrumental in starting the business J & M Supply Inc. in the late seventies with her husband. She attended the Northside Baptist Church in Murfreesboro for the last 7 years. Prior to that Mrs. Pickard was an active member of Mt. View Baptist in Antioch for 44 years where she taught Sunday School for over 2 decades. Mrs. Pickard is preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Nell Johnson Posey of Murfreesboro and brother Carl Posey and his wife Robbie of Nashville. She is survived by her devoted husband John M. Pickard, son John Edward Pickard and his wife Caroline of Franklin, TN; daughters Carolyn Bryson and her husband Keith of Lavergne, and Dana Talley and her husband Steve of Nolensville; 12 grandchildren; brothers Clyde, Leonard and his late wife Polly, and Eldridge Posey; sisters Cornelia Miller and her late husband Bobby, Loretta Hawkins and her husband Ray all of Murfreesboro; and loving family friends and devoted caregivers Janet Alexander and Barbara Moss. Visitation Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services Thursday at 11:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken Polk and Brother John Kurtz officiating. Interment at Rucker-Pickard Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Welborn, Sonny Young, Brian Carr, Chet Sauls, Danny Hudgens, Gordon Barrett, Jeff Lynch, Keith Bryson, and Ray Hawkins.
