Mildred Harrell Carmack , age 95 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Friday January 13, 2017. After her marriage, she and her husband resided in Arlington, VA until returning to Murfreesboro, TN in 1972. Mrs. Carmack was born in LaVergne, TN to the late Lonnie Gilbert and Florence Walkup Harrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John Douglas Carmack, and a step-brother, Truman E. Brown.
Mrs. Carmack is survived by her daughters, Angela Carmack Frye, and her husband Roland Lee Frye, III of Memphis, TN, and Cathi Carmack of Nashville, TN; grandson, Christopher S. Avery, and his wife Erin Ellis Avery of Memphis, TN; and three great-grandchildren, Anna Lee, Elizabeth, and Ellis Avery all of Memphis, TN.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Dr. Jim Clardy officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Roland Frye, Chris Avery, Jerry Boney, John Alsup, Tom Walkup, and Bobby Medlen serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 PM service at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
Mrs. Carmack attended the Tennessee College for Women in Murfreesboro, TN, and was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or to the charity of your choice in memory of Mrs. Carmack.
