Michael John Veater "Mike", age 55 of Murfreesboro Tennessee, passed away Thursday October 2, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. He was a native of Centerville, Utah and was preceded in death by his father, Harry Veater and his grandparents.

He worked for Vulcan Materials for over 37 years starting as a welder then through numerous promotions began working as the Electrical Maintenance Manager in November 2013 . Mike was instrumental in developing the underground mine rescue operations and served with dedication as a leader of Vulcan Team Black.  Mike approached every challenge with intelligence and compassion, putting safety and development of his team first.

He was a dedicated, loving father to his two sons and was involved with all their childhood & high school sports.  Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing, traveling,  and cooking on his BBQ smoker.  Mike was especially passionate about overland camping trips to Colorado and Utah with his wife.  He especially enjoyed  the challenge of driving narrow, rocky trails and exploring old abandoned mines.

Mike was a wonderful, loving, intelligent, and kind husband, father, and friend who touched so many people.  He was an excellent provider and companion to his wife & best friend, Krissy.  They've lived in the same house for 26 years, raising their family and making memories.  Mike was a proud father of his two sons.  He will be truly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.

Mike is survived by his wife of 35 years, Krissy Veater; sons, Cory Veater and Dillan Veater; mother, Jeanette Nelson; sister, Christine Tucker; nieces, Heather, and Samantha; and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Friday October 10th 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday October 11th 12:00PM to 2:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Funeral service will be October 11th 2:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
