April 14, 1958 – September 11, 2016
Michael Lamar Miller, a life-long resident of Murfreesboro, TN, began his heavenly journey September 11, 2016. Mike was 58 years old. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Bradford and Betty June Miller; marternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Franklin Carter Jr; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. "Pluck" Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, the love of his life, Nancy Williamson Miller; children, Katherine Louise Miller (Eli Harris) of Asheville, NC, Charles Michael Miller and Mary Elizabeth Miller both of Murfreesboro; siblings, Ira B. "Buddy" Miller (Ann), Cindy Miller Smith (Steve), Molly Miller Alspaugh (Eric); inlaws, Mike Williamson (Chris), Suzanne Williamson Brown (Ernie), and a host of family and friends.
Mike Graduated from Riverdale High School in 1976 where he was a member of the swim team, District President of Decca, and a member of the Phi Sigma Chi Fraternity. He attended MTSU and began his more than 40 year career in the asphalt and concrete industry. One of Mike's greatest joys in life were the 16 years he dedicated to coaching youth baseball. During their influential years he helped create bonds and friendships that carry on with the players and families he touched throughout his coaching career. Mike made a priority of continuing the guidance and support that defined the love he had for them. Mike was a beloved husband, father, brother, coach, mentor and friend. He will be dearly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Alive Hospice or to the Murfreesboro Baseball Association in memory of Mike.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Miriam Seyler will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
