Michael J. Gibson, age 70 of Smyrna, died Friday at the Alive Hospice Residence, Nashville, after a lengthy illness. He was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of the late Joe Billy and Margaret Homan Gibson.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Jeannie Gibson; children, Randall Allen (Tonya) of Friendswood, TX, Michael Gibson, Jr. (Heather McCollough), and Jenna Overstreet (Adam), all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Lauren and Jarrett Allen of Friendswood, TX, Megan Savidge (Ben) of Rockvale, Chelsie Oldfield (Chris Ross), Lauren Oldfield, David Oldfield (Marissa Murphy), Michaela and Evan Overstreet, all of Murfreesboro; great-grandchildren, Landon, Reagan, Bentley, Lincoln, and Kingston; adopted daughters, Belinda Butler, Larke Strong, and Jill Ethridge, all of Smyrna; cousins, Sharon White Holtzclaw(Sonny) of Pasadena, TX, and Diana Peterson of Cayuga, IN; sister in law, Sharon Campollucci (Richard) of Atlanta; brother in law, Timothy Spears(Lynne Payne) of Carmel, IN; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Mr. Gibson was a Christian and longtime member of the Springhouse Worship and Arts Center, Smyrna, where he served as Elder. He was a United States Air Force Veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Tridon Industries in Smyrna after 24 years of service.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Springhouse Worship and Arts Center. Bruce Coble and Ronnie Meek will officiate. A private graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday.

The family requests memorials be made in honor of Mr. Gibson to the Missions Fund at Springhouse Worship Center or to Alive Hospice.
