MICHAEL JOSEPH GARDNER, age 65, of Murfreesboro, my best friend, awesome husband, great father, grandpa (papa), and brother, died July 12, 2010 at home. Mr. Gardner was a native of Detroit, MI. His parents were the late Henry Emilus Gardner and Samuel and Ruth Vivian Morris. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brian Harrell and Derrick Hartley officiating. He will be laid to rest at a later date in Michigan. Mr. Gardner is survived by his loving wife, Susan Joyce Gardner, five wonderful children and their spouses, Darcee (Robert) Turk, Brutus, MI, Deborah (Bill) Boland, Murfreesboro, Dori (Bruce) Johansen, Brutus, MI, David (Laura) Gardner, Jenison, MI, and Dennis (Michelle) Gardner, Jenison, MI; siblings, Robert J. (Dawn) Morris, Punta Gorda, FL, Gary James (Brenda) Gardner, Punta Gorda, FL, Patricia N. Bauman, Murfreesboro, Sharon (Jack) Ward, N. Ft. Myers, FL, and Charlene S. Morris, Murfreesboro; mother in law, Ruth Grams; 14 grandchildren, Cyle Turk, Hali Boland, Jason Boland, Kayla Williams, Kurt Johansen, Noel Hickman, Brandon Johansen, Meghan Trudell, Luke Gardner, Claire Gardner, Faith Gardner, Laura Sluiter, Sarah Sluiter, and Micah Gardner; and 3 Great grandchildren. Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by siblings Tom and Dan Gardner and Barbara Wenz. He is also survived by his Church family and his great friends at Cedar Park. Mr. Gardner was a member of Harvest View Church. He was a retired pipe fitter and mason. Memorials in memory of Mr. Gardner may be made to Harvest View Church.
