Obituary

Melzana Lee Dunlap, age 89, of Murfreesboro and formerly of Akron, Ohio, and Marco Island, Florida, died on Saturday, August 27, at Adams Place.  She was born in Vaiden, Mississippi, and was the wife of the late Dr. James Wister Dunlap. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Thomas and Melzana Ross Lee; four sisters, Mattie Tuberville, Lela Mae Henry, Louise Jones, and Myrtle Ruth Smith; and one brother, Robert Ross Lee.

Survivors include her sister, Susie Morgan (James) of Benton, MS and Murfreesboro; brother-in-law, John Verell Smith of Tomball, TX; and nieces and nephews, Betty Smith Trevathan (Michael) of Humble, TX, Gary Wayne Smith (Brenda) of Katy, TX, John Michael Smith (Barbara) of Tomball, TX, and Brenda Sudduth Jarman (James) of Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Dunlap was a lifelong member of various Presbyterian churches and a homemaker.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada, MS.
