Melva Reed, age 83, died Friday December 25, 2015 at St. Thomas West in Nashville. She was a native of Missouri and a long-time resident of Springfield, Ill. She was the daughter of the late Harrison and Winifred Baker Givens.

Miss Reed was preceded in death by her parents Harrison and Winifred Baker Givens, daughter, Bobbi Lin Collins, brothers, Ernest Givens, Stan and his wife Linda Givens, sister, Dolores Hutton.

She is survived by her daughter Vickie Cormeny of Murfreesboro, granddaughters, Robin Maddox and her husband Charles, Jamie Ortega and her husband David, sisters, Kate Stephens and Emily Scroggins, great-grandchildren, Jacey, Allie, Connor, Collin and Christian.

Miss Reed was a member of World Outreach Church and a retired nurse at St. John's Hospital in Illinois.
