Melinda Adams Vance, age 59, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, after a brief and sudden illness.  Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Steve Flatt officiating.  Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.   Visitation will be Friday December 30, 2016  from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

Melinda was born in Murfreesboro, TN, July 2, 1957 and was preceded in death by her father, Marlin Adams and mother, Marlene Adams.  She is survived by her husband Ralph H. Vance , Jr., having shared 38 years together; her children, Katie Vance (Matt Alexander) and Ben Vance (Tiara);and brothers, Mark Adams (Teresa) and Matt Adams (Heather).

Melinda was a graduate of Riverdale High School and Middle Tennessee State University, and a valued employee of National Health Corporation for 19 years as an assistant to the treasurer.  She was a member of Kingwood Heights Church of Christ.

Melinda served faithfully on the Board of the Alzheimer's Association (Mid South Chapter) and was very active in raising awareness of the disease and organizing fundraising activities.  Melinda was former national president of Delta Beta Sigma and a co-organizer of Porter Flea Craft Market.  Melinda was very philanthropic minded and was instrumental in raising support for a number of worthy causes in Middle Tennessee.

Melinda was well known for her kind heart and many charitable works.  She was a beloved wife, mother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in memory of Melinda Vance may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Mid South Chapter, 4825 Trousdale Dr Suite 220, Nashville, TN 37220-1309.
