Maxie Wells Jones born July 8, 1922 in Kettle Creek, Kentucky passed away on April 19, 2015 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Maxie, Mother, Mama, Mimi, Gaga lived most of her adult life in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband, Herman O. "Wormy" Jones, her daughter, Sis Jones Morgan and her son, James David Morgan. She is survived by her son, David Herman Jones, his wife Kathy, their sons, Michael and Gregory (all of Murfreesboro), her son-in-law, Jim Morgan, grandson, Christopher Morgan (Cayce and Campbell) and great grandson, Stephen and his mother, Stephanie (Mrs. James David Morgan) of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews throughout the United States. Maxie loved her Lord, her family and the wonderful ladies at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. She was at peace and loved to read and be with nature. She was a champion golfer and she and Wormy enjoyed many golfing vacations with dear friends. She spoke of those times and the times with her family in the one place on earth she enjoyed so much, Kettle Creek. She was a very special person in the lives of many. We are comforted in the thought that her journey that she so enjoyed came to the beginning that she so anticipated. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 AM at Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. James Clardy officiating.
