Obituary

Max Hollingsworth, age 71 of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, September 24, 2017. He was a native of Wildwood, Georgia and the son of the late Thomas Duke and Mildred Frances Reese Hollingsworth. He was also preceded in death by a sister, MarvaJean Swing.


Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ruth Hollingsworth; daughters, Marva Lee Hollingsworth and Krystal Hollingsworth Burns and husband Chris; grandchildren, Allie and Mallory Jeub, Brooke, Brady, and Addison Burns; a great granddaughter, Josie Lee Jeub; and his sister, Winifred Reese, all of Murfreesboro.


Mr. Hollingsworth was a United States Navy Veteran and owned Holly Construction Company. He was a loving family man whose hobbies were woodworking and canning vegetables grown in his own garden.


Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Reverend Don Kelley officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Tray Bouldin, Bill Scott, Herschel Rich, Chris and Brady Burns, and Kevin and Eaen Travis.
