Mattie "Ann" Yasger, age 79, of Smyrna, Tennessee passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, January 28, 2022. She was born in Smyrna and was the daughter of the late George Franklin and Stella Viola Waggoner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Wagoner and his wife Minnie Bell Wagoner, sister Minnie Wagoner Hill and her husband J.C. Hill, brother James House and sister Dora House Skinner and her husband Dent Skinner. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald Edward Yasger.

Ann retired from serving as a baker at Smyrna High School. She was a faithful member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Smyrna, Tennessee. Ann enjoyed quilting, baking, and gardening. The love of life was her family.

Ann is survived by her sister, Pauline Adams and husband Joe of Smyrna, Tennessee. Ann is also survived by her four children included RoseAnne Barnes and her husband Gary of Smyrna, Brenda Stevens and her husband Raymond of Smyrna, Greg Yasger and his wife Toni of Murfreesboro, and Teresa Abriola of Smyrna, Tennessee. Ann is also survived by four grandchildren, Amy Via and her husband Kevin, Kimberly Barnes, Thomas Stevens, and Brianna Yasger. She has one great grandchild, Paisley Ann Marie Via.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Woodfin Funeral Chapel in Smyrna from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A rosary will be said in her memorial from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, February 7, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church in Smyrna. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.

Memorial in memory of Mrs. Yasger can be made to the American Heart Association.
