Mattie Ruth Conner Burton, age 80, died April 5, 2012. Ms. Burton is the daughter of the late John M. and Annie Carter Conner. She is also preceded in death by her sons Leslie Carter and Jerry Wayne Burton; and a daughter Linda Gail Hipps. Ms. Burton is survived by her son Wayne Burton and his wife Charlotte of LaVergne; a daughter Martha Magierek of Boynton Beach, FL; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be 12:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna. Dr. Charles Worrell will officiate. A graveside service will be at 2:30 PM in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
