Matthew Donnell Yates, born on July 16, 1984, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024. He was the son of the late Doyle D. and Valerie J. Yates.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lillye Moore Yates; best friend and brother, Jason Worley; sister, NormaJean Richcreek; grandmother, Sue Smith; aunt, Kimberly Smith; uncle, Buddy Yates; many more aunts and uncles; cousin, Clinton Smith; niece, Elizabeth Berry; along with several other cousins, nieces, family, and friends.

Matthew was an amazingly talented person in many fields. He had a fulfilling career in property management, a field in which he was very proud of. He had a passion for blades and knives, loved riding his Harley Davidson, and found immense joy in fishing at the spots his father took him to as a child.

A memorial gathering will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 PM at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna.
