Mary C. Townsend, age 94 of Lima, OH died Saturday August 20, 2016. She was a native of San Juan, Puerto Rico and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lawrence Townsend, Jr. who died in 2005; her parents, Walter Lanham and Lucille Orrell Cope. Mrs. Townsend attended University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, VA. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mrs. Townsend is survived by her children, Paige Townsend of Murfreesboro formerly of Lima, OH, Lawrence Cope Townsend and wife Kathy of North Carolina, Robert Jackson Townsend and wife Kathleen of Georgia; grandchildren, Kristen Paige Townsend and Fiancé Kevin Roark of Murfreesboro; Chad Michael Townsend and wife Trisha of Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Brody Michael Townsend, Kiera Alexandria, and Brice Roark; sister, Lucille Sawyer of Lima, OH.

The family will hold a private celebration of her life at a later date.
