Mary Estelle Tharp, age 101, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Verva Taylor; husband, Claude Tharp; and sister, Mildred "Bea" Taylor.

She is survived by her neighbors who became family, Treva and Terry Arnold; Tonya McKee and her husband Jeff, Tara Maychrzak and her husband Nolan; Katie, Hannah, and Meg Mckee, Harlow and Lawson Maychrzak; Eric Heilman, Coy Richardson, Brandy Atkins; niece, Wanda Lovelace and her husband Marshall; Marcy and Jacob Lovelace; and many other close friends.

Mrs. Mary worked hard for herself and those she loved. She loved to garden and attend church. She raised and cared for many children in the neighborhood as her own. Mary was known for her loving and selfless heart.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel from 12:00-2:00 PM. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM with burial following at Evergreen Cemetery.
