Services for Mary Sue Shelton Clark, age 92, of Murfreesboro, who died March 4, 2012, will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Shelton Cemetery, in Eaton Hollow at Beech Grove. Rev. Chris Anderson and Rev. Dr. Forrest Shelton Clark will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 7, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John Ransom Clark and Helen Clark of Lake Wales, Florida, and Forrest Shelton Clark and Mary Clark of Beloit, Wisconsin, six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A native of Beech Grove, her parents were the late Samuel Forrest Shelton and Arnie Eunice Frizzell Shelton. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, John D. Clark who died in January 1989; daughter-in-law, Janet Allen Clark who died in December 1999; her brothers, Paschal, Rex, Ross, and Lon Shelton; her sisters, Aurora Stuart, Janie Rogers, and Bertha Robinson; and two special friends, John C. Underwood and Ferrell Holloway. Mrs. Clark was a 1937 graduate of Buchanan High School. She was a long-time member of the Garrison Fork Baptist Church and more recently a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was a retired bookkeeper for Holloway Fashions.
