MARY JANE RATCLIFF NIX, age 82, of Madison, MS formerly of Smyrna, TN. died August 6, 2010. A native of Brookhaven, MS she was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Virgil and Annabel Tanner Ratcliff. She was also preceded in death by her husband J. Franklin Nix and her sister Jean Ladnier. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00 P.M. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Dr. Kyle Goen will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time Tuesday. Mrs. Nix is survived by her two daughters and son in law, Celia J. Nix of Brush Creek, TN., and Lisa C. (T. Michael) Knight of Bolton, MS; son and daughter in law, N. Ney (Tracey Howard) Nix of Wauchula, FL.; five grandchildren, Matthew T. Knight, Kelly Knight, Jess Knight, Kaila Nix, and Rebekah Nix; one great grandson, Ayden Rush Tyler; one sister, Virginia Norman and one brother, Rev. Joe H. Ratcliff. Mrs. Nix was a long time member of Life Point Baptist Church. She attended college at Blue Mt. College and was a past Alumina Assn. President. She was active in the music ministry of First Baptist, Smyrna with her late husband, Frank, and she was actively supportive with the farmers through TN Farmers CO-OP.
