Mary Ruth Phillips, age 85, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018. A native of Rutherford County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Mattie Bivens Howland; and brother, Kenneth Howland.

She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Ed Phillips; daugthers, Connie Phillips and Kathy Neely; siblings, Clint Howland, Hazel Ward, Patricia Armstrong, Mamie Powers, Daniel Howland and Nancy McDonald; along with much loving extended family.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of Powell's Chapel Baptist Church. She was a retired Bookkeeper with the Accounting Dept. at the Murfreesboro Medical Clinic. She was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and loved to read.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Powell's Chapel Baptist Church. Brother Mike Smith and Rev. Todd Wermers will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. two hours before the service.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Phillips can be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro, or to Powell's Chapel Baptist Church.
