Mary Ann Harrison McClary, age 84 of Nashville, died Friday, February 27, 2015 in Nashville. She was a native of Murfreesboro and a daughter of the late Morgan and Elizabeth Bock Harrison. She was preceded by her husband Richard Ellis McClary; infant twin sons, James and John McClary and a sister Betty Harrison Monks. Survivors include sons, George Green McClary and his wife Rebecca of New Johnsonville, Richard Ellis McClary, Jr of Smyrna and William Harrison McClary and his wife Li Zhang of Brentwood; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cooper and her husband Robert of Nashville: a sister, Marjorie Gray of Fayetteville; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. McClary was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Nashville and graduated MTSU with a Bachelors in Education. She taught at Mitchell Neilson, Smyrna Elementary and later retired from David Youree Elementary after 20 years in elementary education. Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 6, 2015 from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Smyrna Presbyterian Church located on Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna, and again Saturday from 3:00 pm until the time of memorial services beginning at 4:00 pm in the Stanford Chapel at the Cheek house, located at First Presbyterian Church, Franklin Pike in Nashville with Rev. Sandra Randleman officiating. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro, TN under the direction of Woodfin Memorial Chapel. The family requests memorials be made in memory of Mrs. McClary to the Mary Ann and Richard E. McClary Scholarship Fund at MTSU or Alive Hospice, Nashville.
