The family of Mary Margaret Mason Clark will lovingly remember her after she slipped peacefully away to return to her heavenly home on June 1st, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband W. Riley Clark Jr., her parents, Jesse and Monica Mason, and a brother, Francis Mason. She is survived by her son W. Riley Clark III, daughter Cathy Clark, beloved granddaughter Jamie Clark, grandson, Riley Clark IV, and granddaughter Katie Clark. She was born in Nashville, TN on March 16, 1919. After graduating high school in Bell Buckle, she moved to Murfreesboro and attended the Women's College. She worked at Vultee building airplanes during World War II and at Stewarts Air Force Base as she cared for her mother. She then worked as a bookkeeper at Byrne Motor Company, where she met the love her life and future husband, Riley Clark. She went on to become a senior accountant for the State of Tennessee. After she married and became a mother, she stayed home to raise her family and helped her husband with their real estate investments. She was devoted to caring for her husband through his lengthy battle with cancer. Throughout her life she loved her flower and vegetable gardens . An unending appreciation will be in our hearts for Dr. Helton and his staff for the years of patience, understanding, and superb care given by his office. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 3:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Rev. Paul Peak officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
