MARY JO LAMB of Murfreesboro left this life unexpectedly, Sunday, January 11, 2009. She was a native of Lascassas, TN, and a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Wednesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Ruth Brandon Bowman of Lascassas. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Sue Katherine Grissom, brothers-in-law, David Grissom and Carroll Uselton of Murfreesboro, Douglas Woodall of Johnson City, TX, and a great grandson, Davaan McDuffie. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lamb Fitzgerald, son, Tony Lamb and his wife Gay, all of Murfreesboro, son-in-law, Darrell Bubba Manus, three grandchildren, Josie Lee Fitzgerald, Tanner Lee Lamb, and Andrea McDuffie, three great grandchildren, Amaris McDuffie, Josiah McDuffie, and Ethan McDuffie, sisters, Lorene Woodall of Johnson City, TX, Annie Ruth Uselton, of Murfreesboro, Linda Carol McConnell and her husband Larry of Milton, and Donna Jean Bowman of Murfreesboro, brother, James Buddy Bowman and his wife Peggy Sue of Milton, brother-in-law, Randall Nichols, former son-in-law, Randall Fitzgerald, former husband Roy Lee Lamb, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog and companion, Lucy Lou. Mrs. Lamb was a member of the Church of Christ Faith and a graduate of Lascassas High School. As a young woman, she was the first switchboard operator in Lascassas before becoming a career employee of State Farm Insurance, retiring in 2002. She touched the lives of many young women as the founder of Cindys Cinderellas Talent Academy. She was an enthusiastic fan of the Tennessee Volunteers. She had a great love for all things green and growing, and was greatly admired for her green thumb. Her smile, laugh and love of a good time will be a lasting legacy for all who shared this gift with her. God cannot always be everywhere so He invented mothers. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
