Mary Leona Holmes, age 72 of Smyrna, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at StoneCrest Medical Center. Mrs. Holmes is preceded in death by her parents Henderson and Roberta Collins; a sister Elizabeth Goad; brothers Albert and Marvin Collins. Mrs. Holmes is survived by her husband of almost 52 years David Holmes; sons David Holmes, Jr. and Robert Holmes both of Smyrna, Scott Holmes and his wife DeDe of McMinnville; a sister Jean Davis and her husband Jerry of Smyrna; three grandchildren Dustin Holmes, Garrison Holmes and Emma Holmes. Mrs. Holmes was a longtime member of Smyrna Church of Christ. Always known as "Ms. Leona", she loved working with children as a teacher at Smyrna Christian School for over 40 years. She will always be remembered, loved, cherished, and missed by everyone. Visitation will be Friday night from 5:00 until 9:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna and then again Saturday from 9:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 10:00am at the Smyrna Church of Christ with Bro.
