MARY VIRGINIA WILLIAMS HESTER age 86 of Murfreesboro, died Saturday January 15, 2011. She was the daughter of the late William Hamilton and Grace Kilgore Williams. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Joe Vinson officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Hester is survived by her daughter Gail (James) Vick her two grandsons James Carl Vick, Hamilton Page Vick all of Murfreesboro, sister Betty Hill of Madison, brothers Harry (Martha) Williams of Chattanooga, John (Carol) Williams of CA., sister in laws Margaret Hester of Antioch, and Anna Williams of Nashville. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Campbell Hester who died in 1986, and a brother Bill Williams. Mrs. Hester was raised in Nashville, where she attended Isaac Litton High School. She graduated in 1942 and then worked for the Federal Reserve Bank in Nashville and Washington D.C. After marrying Carl Hester on April 24, 1947 they ran Hester Construction Company where she was the bookkeeper. They settled in Springfield, TN. She moved to Murfreesboro in 2001 and was a member of Southeast Baptist Church. Visitation will be 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
