Mary Frances
Moore
February 14, 1924 – October 14, 2021
Mary Frances Moore, born February 14, 1924, age 97, passed peacefully on Thursday, October 14. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Audrey Williams Moore. Mary was also preceded in death by sisters, Aileen Moore Williamson and Evelyn Sanford, and a brother, William Moore. She is survived by her niece, Diane Burks (Fred) of Nashville and cousins.
After graduating from George Peabody College in Nashville in 1944, Mary began an insurance career as assistant to Mr. Alden Smith with Northwestern Mutual in Nashville. Her career spanned more than 50 years, and ended with retirement in 1998. Over those years, she was beloved by both clients and staff. Always willing to help others when her expertise was needed, the Nashville office established an annual award named in her honor with emphasis on service and dedication.
Mary was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Smyrna, and previously the First Presbyterian Church in LaVergne where she served as organist and treasurer for many years.
In later years, Mary and her sister Aileen were pleased to have their family farm become a part of the new Mill Ridge Park in Antioch. Mary was enthusiastic about the project and believed it to be a wonderful legacy for future generations.
A graveside services will be Monday at 3:00 p.m. in Mapleview Cemetery.
