Obituary

Mary Evelyn LaFrain Bailey went to be with The Lord on May 13, 2014 after a short illness at the Woodbury Health Care Center. She was born July 18,1921 in Guntown, MS and lived most of her younger years in New Albany Mississippi. Preceding her in death is her husband of 43 years, William Earl Bailey. Earl and Mary moved to Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 1960 to open Bailey's Mill End Fabrics which later became Bailey's Hancock Fabrics until Earl's death in 1984. Mary was a loyal member of Third Baptist Church in Murfreesboro for over 50 years. She loved to sew and many kitchens are adorned with an apron made by her. She was also an avid gardener and loved to have her hands in the soil. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Derocia and Jessie Whitlock LaFrain, two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include son Richard Bailey and his wife Pat of Brownsville, TN, and daughters Sandy Winters and her husband David of Nashville, TN, Karen Myers of Lebanon, TN, Betty Bailey of Woodbury, TN, and Mary Wilson and her husband Mitch of Woodbury, TN. She leaves behind to cherish her memory nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be at 10:00AM today at Roselawn Cemetery. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of the services. 615-893-5151 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arts Center of Cannon County where Mary loved to go and help with costumes for the shows.
