Mary C. Akins, age 80 of Smyrna, died Sunday at Skyline Medical Center. She was a native of Davidson County and a daughter of the late Willie Dee and Lula Romines Cole. She was also preceded in death by husbands Freddie White, and Douglas Akins; two sons Ricky and Ronnie White; a brother John D. Cole and a sister Opal Topaz. Mrs. Akins is survived by her partner Joe Jeans; a son Jackie White both of Smyrna; sisters Gladys Jenkins of Madison, Shirley Bailey and her husband Frank of Goodlettsville, Patricia Buchanan of Cross Plains, TN and a brother Carl Cole and his wife Deloris of Goodlettsville; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. Mrs. Akins retired from Greer Stop Nut. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00pm Tuesday night at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Bro.
