Martin Eugene OConnell, age 50 of Murfreesboro, died Friday, January 27, 2012. He was the son of the late George A. OConnell. He is survived by his mother, Louise OConnell of Murfreesboro, sisters, Eileen Mattsson of New Haven, VT, Margaret Blackburn of Sandy, UT, Tracey Jackson of Winter Haven, FL, nieces and nephews, Jeremy Mattsson, Alyssa Dunivan, Brenna Blackburn, Clay Jackson, and Cole Jackson. Martin was a leader and founding member of the New Hope Lutheran Church where he served as Treasurer and member of the Christian Education Committee and the Evangelism Committee. He served the Lord and church in every manner he could. He served his country as a captain in the United States Air Force and was a truck driver with Superior Trucking. Memorial service will be 2:00pm Tuesday at St. Patrick's Anglican Church, 7103 Baker Rd Murfreesboro, TN. Pastor Freddy Richardson will officiate. A reception will follow the service.
