Mrs. Martha Ann Stroughter (Madear), age 85, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Friday, December 11, 2015. She was born in Hazlehurst, MS to the late Eddie and Martha Major Tillman. She symbolized her dedication to Jehovah to November 24, 1996 in New Orleans, LA. Mrs. Stroughter was a member of the North Murfreesboro Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and was a homemaker to her family.
Madear will be remembered for her love for Jehovah while applying bible council in her life. She will be remembered for her caring attitude and her positive personality as she tried to take care of others.
Madear leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Irene Sims of Murfreesboro, TN; Sheila (Eugene) Thornton of New Orleans, LA; and Mary Lee (the late Felton) Johnson of New Orleans, LA; her son, John (Loretta) Tillman of New Market, MD; grandchildren, Kendell (Tianay) Lonzo, Katrina (Gino) McClain, Eugene (Kristin) Thornton, Sean (Ambi) Thornton, Sonya Johnson, Erica Tillman, Gregory Grey, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and loving friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathleen Matthews.
