Martha Virginia Ford Holden, age 92, went to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 24, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband,  Maurice Holden, who died in 1992, parents, James R. Ford and Flossie Hoover, her stepfather, Forney Hoover, sister, Joyce Williams, step brother, James Ford, son-in-law, James Crook, grandson, Johnny Nance.

She is survived by her children, Anita Weatherspoon and her husband Sam, Brenda Crook, both of Murfreesboro, and Steve Holden and his wife Becky of Fosterville, sister, Doris Lanius of Charlotte, NC, sister-in-law, Mabel Thomas of Murfreesboro, beloved grandchildren, Greg Nance and his wife Debbie of White House, Jennifer Sisk and her husband Brandon of Rockvale, Amanda Long and her husband Chris of Athens, GA, Jenny, Hunter, and Mack Holden of Fosterville, She delighted in spending time with her great grandchildren, Lela Sisk, Maddie and Courtney Nance.

Visitation will be Wednesday 11:00am until 12:30pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel followed by Graveside service at 1:00pm at Miller Cemetery, Christiana, TN. Rev. Chris Warren will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Holden is a lifelong native of Rutherford County. She was born in Christiana on July 31, 1924.She attended school, church and raised her family there. After moving to Murfreesboro, she joined First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired from Middle Tennessee State University as the Bursar in the business office.

Mrs. Holden will be remembered by all who knew her for her quick wit, sincere kindness and genuine love of others. She loved entertaining family and friends, cooking, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed, but we all will be together again in God's time.
