Martha Jean Houston Adams, age 91 of Murfreesboro, TN formerly of Sun City, AZ, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family December 14, 2014. Mrs. Adams was a native of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and was the daughter of the late Errett B. and Clara Wilkins Houston. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Albert Alan Adams, a son, Jim Alan Adams, infant daughter, Judith Diane Adams; her grandsons, Andrew Adams Brown and John A. Adams; two brothers, Tosco and Jack Houston and her stepmother, Anna F. Cone Houston. Mrs. Adams is survived by daughter Susan Brown and her husband James of Murfreesboro; special sister, Shirley Ann Fowler of Paducah, KY; a grandson, Dr. Alex J. Brown and his wife Jaquelyn of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Erica B. Hickerson and her husband Michael of Smyrna and Kristi M. Adams and her partner Sammy Collins; a daughter in law, Mary J. Germain all of Phoenix, AZ; special nieces, Ruth Wood and her husband Linn and Kim Sullivan and her husband Bobby, all of Paducah, KY; nine great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff at Broadmore Assisted Living in Murfreesboro. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
