Marsha Longyear, age 67, of Smyrna, TN went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at her home. A native of Nashville, TN she was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Fannie Lee Nichols Southall; daughter, Lesleigh Bankes; two sisters and a brother.

A memorial service will be Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Brother Dan Parker will officiate.

Mrs. Longyear is survived by her loving husband, David Longyear; sons, Richard Lewis and his wife Teresa and Stephen Lewis and his wife Michelle; son-in-law, Mark Bankes; many grandchildren, friends and family; and her fur babies, Bogie, Odie and Rudy.

Mrs. Longyear was a retired Activity Director with Treveca Health and Rehab. She was an animal lover, enjoyed listening to music and watching movies. She was happy outside in the sunshine and working in her garden. Mrs. Longyear especially loved working with people who suffered from Alzheimer's disease. She had a special sense of humor and was never afraid to share her opinion!

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Longyear can be made to the Grassmere Animal Hospital Angel Fund.

Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
