Marilyn Stockard Hood, 85, died May 25, 2016, at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Murfreesboro, TN.
Mrs. Hood is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Douglass Hood; Children, Garry Warren Hood of Franklin, TN, Rebecca Hagan and her husband Thom of Franklin, TN, and Mark Robin Hood of Nashville, TN; One sister, Janice Wesley of Leesburg, FL; Grandchildren, twins, Cooper Douglass Hood and Grady Paul Hood both of Franklin, TN, Christin Brooke Waters and her husband Josh of Meridian, MS, and John Robin Hood of Nashville, TN; One great granddaughter, Callie Brooke Waters of Meridian, MS.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Dr. Eugene Cotey and Paul Peak will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday, from Noon until time of service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, with Cooper, Grady, and Robin Hood, Bill Allen, Ben Cates, and Paul Peak serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Hood was a native of Watertown, TN, and daughter of the late Paul and
Carrie Belle Wood Stockard. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Paul A. Stockard and James Robert Stockard.
Mrs. Hood was a member of First Baptist Church of Murfreesboro, where she had served as a volunteer in the Church Library. She was retired from Aultman's Jewelers where she served for over 19 years. Mrs. Hood had been a member of the former Exchangette Club where she served a term as President.
Memorials in memory of Mrs. Hood may be made to the First Baptist Church Library.
