Marilee Catherine Ditmer Todd passed peacefully from her earthly life at her home in Murfreesboro, TN on December 20, 2024, with her loving family at her side.

Marilee was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Mary Ditmer, a son Stephen, a sister and 2 brothers.

She is survived by her loving husband John "Jack" Todd of 75 years, her two daughters Amy Shepherd (Craig), Elaine Hunt (Rick), 8 grandchildren, 7 grandchildren in love, 15 great-grandchildren along with a sister and 2 brothers.

Marilee loved and took pride in her beautiful welcoming home and had the ability to make everyone who entered their home feel warm and welcome; always enjoying laughter and conversation over a cup of coffee and a piece of pie, cookie or candy from the famous candy jar.  She was a true hostess.

She was talented in so many areas. Her love for flowers and growing them has been passed on to her two daughters.

She loved to cook and bake.

Marilee was a talented seamstress, and quilting was a huge love. Her handmade quilts completed by her loving hands for each family member will remain a treasured gift always.

She loved everything shopping and never passed up the bargain rack.

She loved laughing, having a good time and was a real jokester.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Adam's Place Assisted Living and Continuing Care staff and caregivers.

Honey Hill Home Care staff and especially the amazing caregivers Stacy and Deanna who graciously loved and cared for her as life began to become so difficult.  She was a stubborn independent woman to the very end and these ladies loved her and found joy and laughter in her independence.

To Adoration Hospice who came into life at just the right time.  Joy, Amy and Hannah were a gift from God.

As Marilee's oldest grand-daughter so fittingly wrote…….She loved to celebrate so it was only fitting that she left her true earthly love on their 75th wedding anniversary to join her heavenly true love Jesus Christ for an eternal celebration.

She was an incredible example who filled our lives with so much love and laughter.

Pallbearers will be 3 of her 4 grandsons, Jeffrey Shepherd, Jon Todd and Caleb Todd along with 3 of her 7 great grandsons, Carter and Mason Hazlett, Wilson Shepherd.

Visitation will be held Saturday December 28, 2024, 11:00-1:00 with service at 1:00 pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro officiated by Grandson Ryan Andrew Shepherd. Burial will follow in Bradley Creek Cemetery.
