Marie Simmons Holland, age 78, of Smyrna, died Saturday, March 2, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Holland was the daughter of the late Homer Simmons and Eunice Walker Simmons. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Lee Wilburn Holland, Jr. and brothers Raymond Simmons and Leland Simmons. Mrs. Holland is survived by her daughters Penny (Joel) Boston of Mt. Juliet, Judy Malea Knowles of Murfreesboro, and Vickie (Tony) Proctor of Smyrna; a son John (Amy) Holland of Smyrna; a brother Melvin Simmons; grandchildren Derek Proctor, Autumn (Jeremy) Shultz, Rebecca Boston, B.J. Boston, Chris (Lacy) Holland, Hillary Knowles, and Adam Knowles; and 6 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Holland was a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ in Smyrna. A graveside service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Riverview Cemetery in Fayetteville, TN. Preacher Wayne Cornwell will officiate. Visitation will be 3:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Memorials may be made to Alive Hospice in memory of Mrs. Holland.
