Marie Carter Bennett, age 81, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday, March 4, 2013. Mrs. Bennett was the daughter of the late William Ruban Carter and Cordia Lee Tribble Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband J D Bennett who died in 1997; and sisters Elsie Mae Carter Bryant and Ida Lee Carter. Mrs. Bennett is survived by her son David Bennett and his wife Sharon of Saudi Arabia; two grandsons Joshua Daniel Bennett, and Joseph Carl Bennett and his wife Rachel all of Murfreesboro. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Ken Polk will officiate. Burial will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Riverview Cemetery in Fayetteville. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service on Saturday in the Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and an active member of the American Business Women's Association.
