Marian Scott Neely, age 85 of Murfreesboro died Thursday July 28, 2011. She was a native of Nashville and was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alma Pilkerton Scott; brothers, Joseph, Robert, Sam, and Harold Scott. Mrs. Neely was a member of the Church of Christ and was a Nurse for over fifty years. She began her career at Baptist Hospital as a Nursing Cadet during World War II; she was a former Head Nurse of surgery at Vanderbilt Medical Center and had worked for the Veterans Hospital in Nashville and the Alvin C. York Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She is survived by son, James E. Jimmy Neely, Jr. of Smyrna; granddaughter, Corey Neely Studer and her husband John of Knoxville; nieces, Susan Bedford of California, and Edith Scott of Nashville and one nephew, Morris Scott of Nashville.
