Marian Lily Hazlett, age 82 of Murfreesboro passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014. She was a native of San Antonio, TX and the daughter of the late Alfred Peters and Dovie Mae Lily Desborough and Ray Desborough. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Lisa Smith. Funeral Service will be 10:00am Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Deacon Ernie Gartung will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with grandsons serving as pallbearers. She is survived by her children, Brenda Smith of Murfreesboro, Debbie Hardesty (Joe) of Owensboro, KY, Cindy Gartung (Ernie) of Murfreesboro, Kevin Hazlett (Debbie) of O'Fallon, IL, Pat Hazlett (Sandy) of Murfreesboro, Pam Carter (KT) of Murfreesboro, Tim Hazlett of Murfreesboro, Charlie Hazlett (Kim) of Murfreesboro, Michael Hazlett (Katherine) of Murfreesboro, sister, Alice Collins of Texas, 21 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and 1 great grandchild and 2 great great grandchildren on the way. Ms. Hazlett was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Smyrna and retired from St. Thomas Rutherford as an admitting registrar. She loved her family and was known by Granny and Gan Gan by her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
