Margaret Smith Stroop, age 87 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Thursday July 2, 2015. A native of Charlotte, TN, she was the daughter of the late Harry D. and Marguerite Charlotte Elder Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Dalton Stroop who died in 2012, and her brothers, David, Sydney, Nat, and Robert Smith. Mrs. Stroop is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Donna Burris Stroop of Union City, CA, Jeff and Dana Crawford Stroop of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, M'Lissa Stroop of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Stephanos Homer Dalton Stroop of Nashville, TN, Kelsey L. Stroop of Hollywood, CA, and Kaley L. Stroop of Boston, MA. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Graveside service will be 10:00 AM Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with David Young officiating. Family will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Stroop was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ and was a graduate of David Lipscomb College. Mrs. Stroop had a love for music, and taught piano in her home for many years.
