Margaret Cox Raikes, age 79, of Smyrna, TN, went to be with the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2018. A native of Altavista, VA she spent most of her life in Smyrna. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Videll Alma Oakes Cox; brother, James "Dickie" Hagood; two sisters, Frances Hagood Johnson, and Carolyn Lee Hix O'Neal, and her nephew, Jason Hagood.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church in Smyrna. Brother W.D. Thomason will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Robert "Bud" L. Raikes; daughters, Vicki Fann and her husband Terry of Murfreesboro, and Kimber Buehler and her husband Robert of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Drew Fann and his wife Ali of Nashville, Chase Fann, Kamron Buehler and Cason Buehler all of Murfreesboro; sister, Gerry Waldron and her husband Steve of Murfreesboro; brother, Jesse "Deedie" Hagood and his wife Debbie of Smyrna; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mrs. Raikes was a member of LifePoint (formerly 1st Baptist Church of Smyrna). She was a 1957 graduate of Smyrna High School and was the secretary at Smyrna High School retiring in 1996.

Drew Fann, Chase Fann, Cason Buehler, David Bucher, Troy Arnold and Thomas Bucher will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials in memory of Mrs. Raikes can be made to the alzheimer's association.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at LifePoint Church in Smyrna.
