Margaret "Pete" Tate Gibson, age 83 of Smyrna, TN, passed away Thursday September 17, 2015 at her daughters home in White House, TN. A native of Palmer, TN, she was the daughter of the late Lee and Cleo Meeks Tate. Mrs. Gibson was also preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Gibson who died in 1994, a grandson, Joshua Gibson, sister, Nina Harris, and three brothers, Steven, Lewis, and William Turner. Mrs. Gibson is survived by her daughter, Tina Barrett of White House, TN; sons, Preston Gibson and his wife Patricia, Terry Gibson and his Joanna all of Smyrna, TN, and Jerry Gibson and his wife Amy of Tullahoma, TN; nine grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Turner of Palmer, TN and Benny Tate of Milner, GA. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna, with Brother Calvin Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Gibson was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in the Leanna community, but attended Friendship Baptist in White House, TN. She was retired from Southeast Title Loan.
