Margaret Joy Coakley Koch , age 87 of Smyrna, TN, passed away Monday July 10, 2017. A native of Chattanooga, TN, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Elgin and Florence Emma Douglas Byrd. Mrs. Koch was also preceded in death by husbands James Coakley and John Koch, an infant daughter, and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Koch is survived by sons, Bobby Norton, and his wife Jan of LaVergne, TN, James Edgin, and his wife Bailey of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Mike Edgin, and his wife Julie of Smyrna, TN; daughters, Diane Smith, and her husband Ed of Smyrna, TN, Charlotte Norton of Murfreesboro, TN, Marilyn Robinson, and her husband Tom of Smyrna, TN, and Janie Kirchharr, and her husband Tommy of Foley, AL; 23 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Funeral service will be held 1:00 Pm Thursday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Pastor Paul Chisgar officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with grandsons and grandsons-in-law serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Koch was a member of the Rutherford County Baptist Church and was retired from sales.
